THE JOHN SHIPPEN ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP was created in honor of John Shippen, Jr., the first American-born and the first Black professional golfer. Scholarships will be awarded to current students of color (high school junior through graduate student status) who have demonstrated leadership & service with a commitment to inclusion & diversity efforts on campus and in the community.

THE JOHN SHIPPEN Fellowship

The Children’s Foundation, in partnership with Intersport and PGA REACH, is offering an opportunity for individuals to gain valuable insight into the administrative aspect of the golf business by hiring a candidate from a historically underrepresented group to work on our team for a 1-year term. This position will work in conjunction with the Rocket Mortgage Classic (PGA TOUR event held in Detroit) and THE JOHN SHIPPEN National Golf Invitational and THE JOHN SHIPPEN Sports Business Summit.
